Melo's MySpace apology
Found on: charleston.net
The cheap shot heard around the world - yeah, I'm talking about Carmelo Anthony's punch that knocked down Mardy Collins of the New York Knicks during a basketball game that turned into a full on brawl last Saturday at Madison Square Garden. Shortly after the altercation, "Melo" posted a bulletin on his Myspace page apologizing for his actions to his Myspace friends -- someone needs to send his publicist an early XMAS present.
Charleston post:Following Saturday night's brawl against the New York Knicks, this bulletin was posted from Denver forward Carmelo Anthony's official MySpace page:
To my MySpace friends,
(Saturday's) altercation with the Knicks escalated further than it should have. Please know that I take full responsibility for my actions in the matter. In the heat of the moment I let my emotions get the best of me. I wish the incident could be contained to what is was - men losing their temper in the heat of competition. In reality though, it can't be. I am on a worldwide stage and to the public, I represent my community and my NBA peers. For the good of all of us, I need to understand my burden and my responsiblity to be better.
Today (Sunday) though, I apologize to you, all the fans, the Nuggets, the NBA, my mother, and my family for the embarssment I have caused them.
